Respectacle Company launch redesigned website

I’m so excited to share that we have a brand-new website, which you can view here!  It’s been over four years since we last updated the website, and we’ve dedicated most of this year to revamping and updating our digital platform. We felt it no longer represented Respectacle Company and our commitment to providing the best eyewear and customer service. So, a refresh was due.

When we set out to revamp the website, our main aim was to improve the appearance and functionality of the home page because we felt it was cluttered, busy, and not as user-friendly as it should be. Once we made changes to the homepage, it highlighted other areas on the website that could benefit from further improvements.

We wanted to highlight our exceptional team and our exciting eyewear collections, making sure they are front and centre on our new website. At Respectacle Company, we have a wide variety of frames from independent eyewear designers across the globe. We have carefully curated our collections to offer a unique and distinctive range of frames not commonly found in the U.K.

The new website features updated visuals from Dorte Kjaerulff Photography, an updated FAQ page, and customer testimonials. We’ve also streamlined our services page to include an overview of the services we offer, such as eye examinations, OCT scans, contact lens fitting and care, not to mention the technology we’ve invested in. We also like to keep customers informed, whether about developments within the optical industry, engaging and educational articles, company offers and news – all of which is in the updated section of our journal, formerly known as the blog.

 

Progress is impossible without change

Over the past few years, we have undergone some significant changes, both in terms of the physical layout of our store and the way we provide services to our customers. We’ve refurbished the interior of the store,  and we have made adjustments in how we deliver our services to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our customers.

During the pandemic, we had to work very differently. We had to close off our lovely open space within the store, install screens and sterilisation stations and wear face masks. These new practices went against our open, professional and honest ethos. However, it was essential to keep staff and customers safe and well.

As soon as it was safe, we opened our space to make it more inviting for our customers. Many of you may remember that we used to have our big reception desk right at the front of the store. It worked well at the time. But after the pandemic, it felt like a barrier and blocked people from fully entering our Manor Walk store to browse our beautiful eyewear. We replaced it with a small 1950s ‘home bar’ that sits towards the back of the store. We also rearranged the dispensing area and a lot of the furniture. The space now feels so much bigger, and it has been well received by all our customers.

We liked our new open space and wanted the website to reflect this. It was another reason to redesign the website; it would mirror the physical store and show people what Respectacle is all about. One of our customers commented that he liked our website. When I enquired why, he said, ‘Because it shows who you are and that you are real people, which is important.’ I think he is right; we are real people, professionally qualified with a lot of experience, and all of us offer the highest quality customer care.

We’re excited about the changes at Respectacle Company, and we’d love for you to come and see for yourself. Pop into the store on Manor Walk, where our friendly team is always ready to welcome you and discuss all things related to eyewear and eye care. You’ll soon notice our uniquely different approach – and our distinctively different eyewear!
