What we offer our customers as an independent opticians
There are many different styles of optical stores throughout the UK: from high street chains and franchises to partnerships and independents. And they all work in slightly different ways.
Many of these businesses are connected or tied to specific buying and procedural pathways to ensure the corporate identity of these organisations remains constant across all stores. Their employees must follow head office protocol and guidance to purchase specific products within their buying groups. Doing so limits the range of products and services they can offer their customers.
As we are a completely independent business, we have the flexibility of offering products and services from the entire optical industry. However, as small independent opticians, unfortunately, we do not have the buying power these large companies have. So, we are unable to compete on a financial basis. What we can provide – and we think we do it well – is a highly skilled and professional customer care package.
One of our greatest strengths is our resident Optometrist Mr Tim Hanby. Tim is highly qualified and has over 40 years of experience. He offers a fully comprehensive examination with all the screening tests performed and explained by himself.
Our examinations are of the same standard regardless of whether you are a private patient or entitled to an NHS examination. We also offer OCT scans – Optical Coherence Tomography – which with our hospital-grade scanner completes a scan through the layers of your eyes. OCT scans are not available through the NHS. But we can offer this at a small extra charge to cover the cost of our investment in the equipment. These scans are very detailed and can detect many ocular conditions. Our dispensing team work hard to find suitable solutions for all our customers and their eyewear needs, including contact lenses, optical lenses, sunglasses, or sports eyewear. We have all trained within our field of expertise and have access to unlimited lens products to select the most appropriate solutions. We also attend workshops and training seminars regularly. So, we are fully aware of the latest technological advances within the optical industry.
All eyewear collections we offer are carefully selected and sourced from Europe and the world. Each one is individual, designed and manufactured by highly skilled craftsmen. Our eyewear collections are not mass-produced or available through discounted internet selling sites. We pride ourselves on offering unique, artisan eyewear that isn’t available to the mass markets.
Respectacle Company is a small family-run optical store. We don’t want to conquer the world. We want to offer a high quality, professional and knowledgeable service to people in and around Market Harborough and South Leicestershire.
We aim to offer continuity of care by seeing the same staff members throughout your appointment and each time you visit us. We treat our customers as individuals and spend as much time as necessary to ensure that we offer the most successful solutions for our customer’s needs.
