Skin care for spectacle wearers

Nestled in the corner of our lovely shopping precinct in Manor Walk, behind a red door, and up a flight of stairs, you’ll find You Beauty. As one of our closest neighbouring businesses, we wanted to highlight some of the services offered by You Beauty, which is ideal for spectacle wearers. We think it’s something our patients may be keen to learn about and possibly explore in the future.

For this blog, we’ve teamed up with Brontie and Jess from You Beauty to examine the products and treatments available. Specifically, those recommended skin care products and treatments which can benefit men and women and are ideal for people who wear glasses.

Alumier Eye Rescue Pads

According to Brontie, the Alumier Eye Rescue Pads are a go-to for spectacle wearers. These refreshing gel pads help to reduce puffiness and fine lines around the eyes. Specially formulated to help moisturise and brighten the skin around the eyes, this unique gel treatment can provide a shield against moisture loss. The manufacturer confidently states that the appearance of fine lines in the skin around the contours of the eyes will be visibly reduced when using Alumier Eye Rescue Pads.

Environ Vita-Peptide Eye Gel

Environ Vita-Peptide Eye Gel is Jess’s recommendation. This light gel formula contains vitamins, antioxidants and peptides designed to help improve the appearance of fine lines and assist in moisturising the skin around the eyes. The gel also contains optim-hyal to stimulate the skin’s natural synthesis and renewal of hyaluronic acid to restore it to optimal levels.

Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule found naturally in the body to hydrate skin. It acts as a cushion and lubricant in the joints and other tissues. Hyaluronic acid also affects how the body responds to injury, helping to decrease swelling. As such, this gel also helps to hydrate, brighten, and reduce puffiness in the delicate skin around and below the eyes.

You Beauty’s Favourite Facial Treatments

Moving away from their products, our You Beauty friends told us their favourite treatments, which will benefit the face, or the skin around the eyes. Jess recommends a treatment called Dermalux LED Light Therapy. She explained that services such as Dermalux LED Light Therapy assist with a variety of symptoms which may afflict the face and the skin around the eyes.

The use of red light therapy encourages the skin to boost its natural collagen and elastin production. Blue light therapy helps to reduce acne, reduce pores, and helps to combat psoriasis. Jess explained that light therapy also offers treatments using NIR light, which can help ease joint pain and promote healing in larger muscles. This treatment can also stimulate glands, such as the thyroid and thymus, and has been used in scientific studies to help improve brain health.

Brontie then went on to talk about the benefits of the Environ Focus-On Eye treatment. This treatment combines powerful peptide complexes with hyaluronic acids and electro-sonic DF technology to provide a visibly refreshed and hydrated look in 30 minutes.

We want to take this opportunity to thank the team at You Beauty and especially Jess and Brontie for sharing their recommendations.
