Ørgreen is an independent Danish eyewear brand that we have been aware of for a long time. When the opportunity to work with their frames became available, we seized it without hesitation. Offering a range of masculine, feminine, and unisex designs, the brand has something for everyone.

Founded in 1997 in Copenhagen, three Danish friends and creatives – Henrik Ørgreen, Gregers Fastrup and Sahra Lysell – turned their passion for great design into an iconic eyewear brand. Starting under their own eyewear label, Ørgreen Optics, their aim was to create timeless high-quality optical frames for quality-conscious individuals around the world. Today, Ørgreen eyewear is a globally recognised brand, loved and admired for its innovative Scandinavian designs and premium frames.

Ørgreen frames are designed in Christianshavn, a beautiful and historic area of Copenhagen. Their offices, based in a piece of architectural heritage in the city centre, house both their stock warehouse and their in-house design team, the Ørgreen Studios. The brand operates from its headquarters in Copenhagen and has offices in California to manage its American market. Shown only in independent opticians’ practices, Ørgreen has achieved the success of being available in more than 50 countries worldwide. Inspired by high-end materials, unique colour palettes, and textures from a range of materials, the Ørgreen creative team takes pride in creating unique pieces alongside iconic designs that stand the test of time. The designs created by the studio aim to communicate Ørgreen’s core traits: innovative aesthetics, top customer care, and, of course, quality.

Holding a pair of Ørgreen glasses means looking at the physical manifestation of the creative team’s individual and collaborative design choices – right down to the colour selection. With their dedicated in-house colourist, Sahra Lysell, the brand has put great effort into developing unique colour stories which draw inspiration from art, design, architecture, and nature. As Lysell explains: “I like colours in nature – how they affect us, how they make us energetic and happy, and how we are touched by frequencies when we see colour.”

Each and every Ørgreen frame is handmade by skilled artisans in Japan. The designs and production combine the Japanese ethos of quality and mastery of craftsmanship with the iconic Danish stylings of precision, creating a luxury eyewear product that offers longevity. One of the defining features of Ørgreen’s eyewear is its use of premium materials, including titanium, acetate, stainless steel, and polyamide.
