The first few months of the year are always such a busy time at Respectacle Company. Most of the trade shows are held between January and March, and we try to attend as many as we possibly can. It’s important for us to keep abreast of emerging trends, as well as any new developments within the optical industry. It’s during the first few months of the year that we evaluate our current eyewear collections and decide what our customers at Respectacle Company may like to see in store. It’s an important time of year for our optical practice.
So far this year we have managed to go to OPTI Munich, 100% Optical in London – the UK’s largest optical event – MIDO in Milan and Optrafair in Birmingham. While Birmingham may not be the sexiest place to visit (certainly not compared to Milan!) for equipment developments it’s a real hub of information.
As much as we’re all about eyewear fashion and love our frames, as an optical practice we also value the importance of our eye examinations. Optrafair was a great opportunity to check out new instruments coming onto the market, and to add new examination equipment to ensure we are on top of the game when it comes to eye tests and eye health. Needless to say it proved to be a rather expensive day! But we have no doubt the new equipment will be well worth the investment for our practice and our customers. We’ll let you know more soon.
Attending optical trade fairs means we get to discover some really interesting and innovative new collections from around the world. One that really caught our eye in London was a collection from Poland. We didn’t actually find it ourselves, but luckily we bumped into a sales agent from a company that we stock, who suggested we take a look. They thought this new eyewear company would be right up our street. And well, they weren’t wrong – it really is.
Albert I’mStein (yes, that’s their name) was showcasing their eyewear collection in the studio section of the show. It’s a small area designed to put the spotlight on up and coming new brands. As soon as we saw the collection, we were really taken with it and just knew that the eyewear would fit in really well with our existing collections. Aside from being drawn to their fabulous name, we just love the materials they use and the craftsmanship is of a really high quality too. Each frame has just the loveliest detail and the colour combinations are sure to make you smile. Albert I’mStein aim to give the spectacle wearer a fun experience. They want you to shine from within when you wear their glasses. And so do we!
As the latest addition to our growing little family, we’re showcasing this fun and funky new brand in our shop window this month. Why not pop into our optical boutique and take a closer look. You can also read more about Albert I’mStein over on our website.
