Flattering Eyewear for Everyone: From Big Heads to Small Faces

At Respectacle Company, we understand and appreciate that every person is unique in size, shape, skin tone, and hair colour. These are all important factors we consider when choosing new eyewear for our customers.

We also take into account head sizes and facial features. Some of our customers are small and have delicate facial features. When they visit us for the first time, they usually want to look at our eyewear collection for children because they have never been offered anything else by other opticians – which is fine if you like pinks, purples, or greens with Disney characters or stars on the temples. However, we want to be able to provide adult eyewear specifically designed for people with finer facial features.

One such collection we stock is called Nifties from the Design Eyewear group. Their frames are suitable for male and female customers with petite features. So, there is no compromise on any element of the frame. There’s no need to adapt side lengths, temple widths, or bridge fit. They are proper grown-up eyewear scaled down proportionately for people with more defined features.

Another eyewear brand that we rave about at Respectacle Company is Caroline Abram. Caroline also offers a scaled-down version of frames from her eyewear collection suitable for our customers with finer facial features. Models like the Mini Margot, Mini Mael, Mini Bunny, and Mini Cutie are ideal for smaller faces.

Not everyone fits into the “average” measurements used by many frame makers, and some of our customers have prominent features and larger-than-average heads. That’s why we consider various factors such as head width, cheekbone height, nose size, and ear position to ensure a comfortable fit.

With this in mind, we have a selection of larger frames for both men and women with larger heads. Our selection includes Starck Eyewear, a collection designed to accommodate larger head widths and features a unique rotating temple hinge. Based on a shoulder joint, it rotates like your shoulder and provides added flexibility and comfort. Additionally, our Vinylize Eyewear collection features oversized frames made from recycled vinyl records. Not forgetting our bespoke wooden collection, FEB31st, which is entirely handmade and tailored to each person’s head width and temple length.

For women, we also have larger frames that enhance facial features. The Duchesse from Caroline Abram is a popular choice, and from their 25th-anniversary collection, Lilou has beautiful lines. L.G.R’s Essaouira, a hexagonal shape available in a variety of colours, is very flattering, as is their Raffaello, a classic timeless piece.

Whatever your shape or size, we are confident we can find a selection of beautiful, fun frames you will love. We also strive to provide eyewear that fits you perfectly and is comfortable. Ultimately, that’s what we’re here for!

Visit us in-store Tuesday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and on Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm to browse our collection of independent eyewear. You can also view a selection of our frames online.
