Silmo Eyewear Exhibtion

I’ve been busy over the last couple of months and really have been travelling the world, trade fair in Paris, workshops and optical stores in Prague and gathering inspiration down under in Australia.

Silmo, held in Paris every Autumn is one of the largest and most respected optical trade fairs in the world and people come from around the globe to view the latest collections and new designs being  launched by world renowned optical designers as well as new fledgling companies breaking the market for the first time. Silmo really is a show ground for everything optical. There are many awards presented over the show weekend for design, technology, and inspirational developments within the industry. The latest innovations are showcased during the show.

Silmo was where I discovered our new eyewear collection Caroline Abrams. I first came across this  emerging brand about 18 months ago and started to follow the collection to see how it was going to evolve. This year the collection has really come into its own and the pieces are beautiful, very feminine and flirtatious with a lovely use of colour and shape. I knew it would be so right for Respectacle and the beautiful ladies of Market Harborough.

Prague was exciting too, there is so much new and interesting high quality eyewear emerging from this part of the world. On the back of this trip we now stock Vinylize, eyewear made from old vinyl records. The collection is all completely hand made, its distinctive, quirky, interesting, high quality and of course eco friendly. Vinylize just ticks all the boxes for people who want to make an interesting statement.
