Far from being boring, black glasses are timeless, classy, and versatile. Black is one colour that has remained a constant on the eyewear market. It has never gone away, but it has been mixed up and softened. The thing with black is it is a classic colour. A bit like the little black dress, it is a wardrobe staple for a good reason.
As we mentioned in our previous blog, eyewear trade fairs are beginning to re-emerge. Whether it’s the long-standing large trade shows or smaller innovative pop-up events dotted around Europe, they’ve all been showcasing the latest trends and fashion for eyewear moving into 2022.
The big eyewear trend for 2022 is the introduction of translucent colours – and there are a lot of them. The spectrum starts with crystal and moves around the colour wheel to a deep midnight blue capturing everything else in between. The most eye-catching colour we’ve seen so far is a soft translucent olive green. Overall, green seems to be the stand out crowd pleaser this year.
Our small family-run independent optical practice is excited to announce that we have welcomed a new addition to the Respectacle team here in Market Harborough.
With over ten years of optical experience, Chris will be working in a dispensing capacity. He has worked in both independent optical practices and for a well-known chain of high street optical stores. Chris holds a degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing, which he obtained from Canterbury Christ Church University. And with NVQ qualifications in the optical sector to his name, Chris has a solid base knowledge for products and spectacle designs. We feel lucky to have him join our team.

During a recent conversation with a couple of our male clients, it came to our attention that our eyewear collections are focused heavily on our female client base. So clearly, we needed to reassess the diversity of our eyewear collections and make some changes to address the needs of our male clientele.
