All we want for Christmas: 3 ideas for stocking fillers from Respectacle Company

With Christmas just around the corner, you may be feeling stressed about what presents to give to family and friends. It’s never easy to come up with thoughtful and meaningful gift ideas, and the pressure to find the perfect presents each year can be quite overwhelming. Here are a few ideas that might help relieve some of that stress – and maybe even make your holiday shopping a little more enjoyable.

We have some optical accessories that eyewear lovers will find stylish and practical. First up are COTI eyeglass chains. You may think spectacle chains are old-fashioned, dull cords or thin gold and silver chains. But COTI has remixed the simple chain and taken it to a whole new level! First revealed on Dragons’ Den in April 2021, interest in COTI glasses chains skyrocketed after Deborah Meaden invested in the brand. Meaden stated that she was impressed with how founders Julie and Nancy had “brought an important bit of everyday kit out of the dullness and into the light”.

Upon reaching the age where needing reading glasses became necessary, former colleagues and long-time friends Julie and Nancy were disappointed by the lack of inspiring and fun glasses chains available on the market. Determined to change this, they set about designing and producing their own. COTI chains are made in Italy from upcycled plastic sourced from offcuts of other manufactured plastic products. These offcuts are remodelled into the links of the chains, creating a highly sustainable process. The end products are not only beautiful and fun, but also very practical. COTI glasses chains have been so well received in the optical market that they are now attracting a younger audience of sunglass and spectacle wearers keen to purchase their products.

Another similar product we stock is the Le Kevin glasses holder. However, Le Kevins work differently. Unlike the COTI spectacle chains that attach to the temple of your glasses, Le Kevin eyeglass holders are designed so that your spectacles sit flat across your front. Designed in London and manufactured in Italy and Germany, Le Kevin eyeglass holders are made from leather and come in various colours, from dark muted shades for the gentlemen spectacle wearer, right through to hot pink and vibrant orange for the more adventurous. They are so stylish that when they’re not holding your eyewear, they transform into an elegant necklace, just like the COTI glasses chains. Either of these optical accessories would make great stocking fillers for the spectacle wearer in your life.

As you know, we endeavour to offer something different compared to other high street opticians. We now stock an exceptionally cool brand of tinted reading glasses called Eyes-cream from an Italian company called Eyepetizer. In the words of Eyepetizer: “Reading is for many a pleasure, for many others a necessity, being able to do it in colour can only add flavour”. Eyepetizer Eyes-cream readers are available in two different styles and three tints. These ready readers are perfect for adding a new dimension to your eyewear wardrobe.

This is such a busy time of year, thinking about presents, food, visiting loved ones, and generally pulling everything together to meet the deadline of December 25th. I don’t know how Father Christmas manages to pull it off!

Shop local with us; visit Respectacle Company, and we’ll help you find the perfect stocking stuffer for the eyewear lover in your life. You can also shop a selection of our optical accessories online here.
