Day 2 of 100% Optical trade fair in London and look who we saw drop by the L.G.R stand…

He joins a family of L.G.R. fans along with Georgios Armani and Tom Cruise. Ian Wright football legend and match of the day pundit who is renowned for his style in eyewear was very taken with the collection and impressed with the high quality craftsmanship.

He loved the beautiful L.G.R. Story with its African roots and Italian family heritage. The brand was born from the vision of its founder, Luca Gnecchi Ruscone. In 2005 he was visiting Eastern Africa where his grandfather once lived and whilst wandering through one of his grandfathers’ old warehouses of Italian imports he discovered an old box of colonial period sunglasses which had been imported from Italy some fifty years earlier. Fascinated by the style and elegance of these pieces he brought them back to Italy, where they were received with great enthusiasm. Luca tracked down the original manufactures and L.G.R went into production using the same traditional methods from the original manufacturer fifty years previously.

The collection is entirely handmade in Italy by three artisan families. Each piece blends together traditional methods of craftsmanship, latest technologies and a history that dates back to colonial Africa.
