At Respectacle Company, we’re always shouting about the new eyewear that’s just landed and how excited we are about the latest shapes and colours. But most of the time it’s all about the lovely colourful ladies’ eyewear we stock. So, we thought showcasing some of our more masculine frames was long overdue.
These days, the distinction between men’s and women’s eyewear frames is less pronounced because many styles are interchangeable. However, there are still some independent eyewear brands that offer frames that are more traditionally masculine in terms of shape, size, and colour.
Here at our independent opticians in Market Harborough, we don’t tend to follow fashion trends – they come and go quite quickly. One season, it’s all about heavy, square, black acetate frames, and a few months later, lightweight, thin, oversized metal frames are in style.

We have an extensive database of regular clients at Respectacle Company who understand the importance of regular eye examinations. Still, we also have some customers registered with us who haven’t had their eyes tested in forever – probably because they feel their vision is fine.
A lot of people only book an appointment for a check-up when they start to experience problems with their vision. However, an eye examination is so much more than just checking whether you can read the small print on a package in the supermarket.
So, how can you tell if it’s time for an eye test – what are the signs and how often should you have an eye examination?

In our blogs, we often talk about ourselves – what we’ve been up to, the new frames we’ve just had delivered, or the latest equipment we’ve purchased to enhance the customer experience at Respectacle Company. But this time, I wanted to shine a light on Manor Walk. As well as being our home and a wonderful place to work, Manor Walk is also home to a diverse range of interesting, independent businesses, tucked away in a lovely little shopping precinct, just a short stroll from the centre of Market Harborough.

As the UK experienced another hot weekend, Chris was lucky enough to be invited by Ørgreen Optics, along with a selection of representatives from independent opticians across Europe, to escape to the slightly cooler climate of Copenhagen in Denmark.
